Alaska Del Sur #3 received the Presidential Award and scored over 90 points in the first ever 2021 Ecuador Cup of Excellence competition!
Curt John Madison, an Alaskan native, had a mission when he met his wife in Ecuador: finding the perfect climate to grow coffee. Together they searched and eventually settled in La Papaya, 6,500 feet above sea level in the central Andes. The soil, air temperature, and water is excellent. Each coffee cherry is selectively picked by hand for color and maturity. The cherries are double aerobic fermented and dried slowly in the shade. Alaska Del Sur is certified by the Cup of Excellence.
