Gitwe Hill, Burundi
Small farmers in the area of Gitwe Hill, adjoining the dense forests of Kibira National Park, deliver ripe cherry to the Heza washing station, built by them and Long Mile Coffee. The Bourbon variety grown here may be an ancestor of Kenya’s great SL28. This is a smooth, full-bodied coffee with notes of dark chocolate and grape, and a hint of blackberry on the finish.
