Sol Naciente, Peru
Julio Arotaype Huayllas is a small farmer focused on artisanal practices at his farm Sol Naciente. In 2019, he revitalized a 7-acre farm by addressing soil erosion through reforestation efforts. Two years later, he produced his first lot. Shortly after, in 2023, he placed 11th in the Cup of Excellence. The lot is named after the sun that shines every morning. The mouthfeel is smooth with dark cherry, candied orange, and wisps of meyer lemon.
